The UT Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics group
is presently searching for outstanding graduate students who are
in conducting experimental physics research at
the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC)
at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)
in New York or at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.
Following the required
course work and admission to Ph.D. candidacy, the student may have the
option of conducting research on-site at the LHC, at RHIC or here at UT in Austin.
Students have the option of working on the STAR
experiment or the ALICE experiment involving the analysis of
STAR and ALICE data and the associated physics
research as part of his/her
Ph.D. thesis, or working on hardware construction and software development (firmware, simulations, etc.) for either experiment, specifically with relation to particle detectors.
