The meeting location is Robert Lee Moore (RLM) Hall on the University of Texas campus.  RLM

houses Physics-Astronomy-Math.  The building location is the corner of Speedway and Dean Keeton.

Dean Keeton is formerly 26th street. Reserved for the meeting are 15 rooms on the 5-6-7 levels with

seating capacities of 30-40 and 3 rooms with seating capacity 84.  In addition  the RLM Auditorium on

in an adjacent engineering building has been  reserved for the Collaboration Council Meeting on Thursday.

Morning and afternoon coffee and snacks will be provided Sunday through Thursday.

Registration

The present estimate (12/18/00) is that the regular registration fee will be $50.  This fee includes partial costs

for the banquet, the reception, and coffee breaks. The registration fee for Council Members will be $65 (additional

expense due to Thursday Council Meeting morning/afternoon coffee breaks and lunch). There is an additional

charge of $2/day for those who wish to purchase parking permits for Monday through Thursday.

The Vice President for Research of the University of Texas has provided $5000 to subsidize costs.

Registration will be handled by Liz Mogavero with assistance of Physics Department Staff as required.

Copiers

Copiers for making copies and transparencies are available in RLM 5.208.  A code is needed to use the

copiers and this code will be provided you  at the meeting. Physics Department Staff Dorothy Walker

(RLM5.208, phone :512-471-1153) and  Eric Patkowski (RLM 5.208; phone: 512-471-1153) will be

glad to provide assistance.

Internet Access

A STAR user account will be set up on several of the Physics’ Department computers.  Information will

be provided at the beginning of the meeting. We will provide Netscape, Explorer, and a secure shell connection.

If you have any special requests,  please contact Physics Department Staff John Kerrigan (RLM 7.126;

phone: 512-471-5821).

Parking

Parking is available in Parking Garage 6 at a cost of $2/day.  This garage, located at 27th and Speedway,

is a short walk from RLM.  In order to park for this reduced rate you must purchase “Star Collaboration

Parking Vouchers” when you register.  On Saturday and Sunday parking should not be a problem, since most

of the permit parking spaces are only permit parking M-F from 7:30-4:30.  But be careful on Saturday and

Sunday – if you park in a “Permit Required at All Times” lot, you may get a ticket.

Reception and Banquet

A wine and cheese reception will be held on Monday evening at the University Faculty Center from 7-9 pm.

The Collaboration Banquet will be held Wednesday evening from 7-11 pm at the Saltlick Restaurant in Driftwood

which is about 25 miles from  the University.  We have rented one bus (which only holds about 50 people) to take

those who do not have cars. All you can eat Texas barbeque including beer will be served. This restaurant does not

sell alcoholic beverages of any kind, but allows anything to be brought in.  The local group will take

care of getting the beer.  If you want something other than beer, feel free to purchase it and bring it along.
